Fair Facts

The Lassen County Fairgrounds is located in the City of Susanville, Which is the county seat and lies at the head of Honey Lake Valley with an altitude of 4,200 feet. The beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountain Range surrounds the city and the valley and is the eastern gateway to Lassen Volcanic National Park and Forrest. The area offers many scenic and interesting things to see and do, whether you are a tourist, visitor, or sportsman, you can find it here.

The staff includes four fulltime employees: Fair Manager Jim Wolcott, Business Assistant Melissa Blosser, Senior Account Clerk Quin Zeangle and Senior Maintenance Worker Jay Sylvestrey.

More than 48,000 patrons attend the Lassen County Fair each year which is held the third week of July. The Fair is the longest-running community event in Lassen County. There is also an annual parade sponsored by the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce that is held during the Saturday of fair week. Local businesses and organizations drive down main street displaying their floats.

The Lassen County Fair is also responsible for maintaining the fairgrounds year-round for interim events. More than 90,000 people visit the fairgrounds for such interim events as Auto Racing, Craft-Fair, Children’s Fair, Gun Shows, Tool Sales, Food Banks and numerous other community events.
