Fair Staff

Fair Manager, Jim Wolcott

Jim Wolcott became the fair manager after being in the restaurant franchise business for over 30 years. He took part in the ownership and operation of Burger King, TCBY and the Country Kitchen. “I wanted to become the fair manager so that I could give back to the community that has treated me so well in the past. I believe that this facility is not ‘our fair,’ it is ‘the community’s fair,’ by this I mean that it takes a strong community working together to make a successful fair.”

Jim has been an active member of the Lassen community as a member of the Evangelical Free Church. As a local businessman he has given several donations to local organizations and participated in many community service events.  Jim enjoys fly fishing, spending time with his family and his grandchildren.  He has been married for over 38 years to his wife Linda and is the proud father of two sons and six grandchildren. Those of us that know him, and work with him day in and day out know him as “the tasmanian devil.”

Maintenance Supervisor, Robert Borders

  1. Hey there? I run a circus performance group based out of Quincy CA. We performed at the Plumas County Fair last year and are looking for more opportunities to perform. Who can I get in touch with about this. Our email is quircus@gmail.com. Hope to hear from you soon!

  2. I attended the Susanville Bluegrass Festival you hosted. What great talent on the stage. The band line up was very good. I enjoyed all the jamming in the campground at night. There are some super parking-lot pickers who were jamming with the stage pros and having a bunch of fun.

Just a couple suggestions: 1. Advertise in the monthly newspaper of the California Bluegrass Association, called the Bluegrass Breakdown. It is a nationally award winning bluegrass news instrument with readers all over the country/world. I think that will increase attendance. Start about five months early with the ads so folks can plan ahead. 2. Advertise in the major Reno media of choice also.

You have a great place for this event and I hope it continues for many years to come.

  3. Good Morning,

JandJ Performing Arts would love to do one half hour performance at the fair again this year. This is going on 14 years of fair performances for our group!

I am hoping Thursday any time between 2-7pm would work great for us.

    I left my email.
