For nearly four decades, the Lassen County Office of Education has been delighting generations of children with their annual Children’s Fair—a cherished local tradition held every May. This year, the event takes on a space theme with the catchy title “May the Fourth be With You,” inspired by the iconic Star Wars phrase “May the Force be With You.”

Held at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, this free to attend event boasts an extensive array of community organization booths, offering resource information and engaging activities for students. From a captivating vehicle display to delightful face painting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the day, live entertainment will be in full swing, featuring talented dancers from local dance studios and whimsical costumed characters wandering the fairgrounds. Kids will be thrilled by static displays of emergency vehicles and other captivating attractions scattered throughout the venue.

This year, the fair introduces an exciting addition: a Lip Sync Battle open to kids aged 6 to 19. Local talent will take the stage to groove and mime along to popular tunes. No singing or dancing skills are required—just bring your energy, enthusiasm, and a desire to have a blast!
